A one-hour fire destroyed the public market in Valencia town on Monday morning, Sept.16, 2024.
Initial investigation showed the fire started at past 10 a.m. in a closed stall at the market.
The BFP here was assisted by their colleagues from Garcia Hernande, Lila and Dimiao.
Mayor Neil Balite was in the area to manage the incident.
No one was injured in the fire.
With the help of firefighters from neighboring towns, the fire was put out in an hour.
The exact cause of the fire was yet to be determined, BFP-Valencia said.
Stall owner Janessa Palaca wept. She had been selling fruits at the market.
“Gilamon sa kayu akong baligya,” she said.
Palaca lost all her fruits to the fire.
