Bohol 2nd dist. Rep. Vanessa Aumentado has chosen Trinidad Vice Mayor Fernando Erio as Abante Bohol’s official mayoral candidate in May 2025 elections.
“Akong ipaklaro dinhi nga ang Official Candidate sa Abante sa 2025 election pagka Mayor mao si Incumbent Vice Mayor Fernando Erio,” Aumentado said in a Facebook post.
She added that Erio’s slate is already complete.
She said that the “unification” was only between incumbent Trinidad Mayor Roberto Cajes and media pesonality Jhonny Orioque.
On Sunday, Aug. 25, the “unification ceremony” was held in Trinidad between Orioque and Cajes whose goal is to unite the leaders in Trinidad town under the “Alayon” team. Orioque ran for mayor in Abante in 2019 and 2022 against the Cajes but failed to win.
“I respect the decision of Johnny Orioque who unified with the Cajes. It’s his personal decision. However, he didn’t inform me nor Governor Aris Aumentado (about his decision)”, said Aumentado.
Alayon members said they are supporting Gov. Aris Aumentado.
