Member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) will hold the Asean Social Security Association (Assa) members’ convention in Bohol scheduled on November 25-27.

The event is expected to draw 150 delegates from various countries in the region.

Last July 3, high ranking officials from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) visited the office of Bohol’s acting governor Dionisio Victor Balite.

Vice President Margie Jorillo from the corporate communications department led the courtesy visit. She was accompanied by Nelia Sumisim from the strategic planning and control department, Nelia Lastimosa, branch manager of GSIS Bohol, and Janette Ungab.

The Social Security System (SSS) and the provincial government of Bohol will co-host the event.

GSIS announced that they have prepared a memorandum of agreement for the ceremonial signing which will take place in July as part of the Sandugo Celebration.

During the visit, delegates will be given a tour of various tourist sites in Bohol. To enhance this experience, the GSIS creatives team and the Bohol Tourism Office will capture drone footage of the province’s top scenic spots for the delegates to enjoy.

Balite assured that the provincial government will prioritize the safety and security of the delegates throughout the event.

The Assa will give Bohol the chance to showcase its rich heritage and culture. It will also highligh the province’s status as the only Unesco Global Geopark in the Philippines. (PIMO/ALT/NDF)
