The power situation looks brighter in several towns with the presentation of projects during the Provincial Development Council (PDC) executive committee meeting on May 6 at the Capitol.
The meeting was presided by Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado together with lawyer John Titus Vistal, provincial administrator Asteria Caberte and Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite.
Also present were Sangguniang Kabataan provincial federated president Lawrence Ancla, Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Romulo Cepedoza, and representatives of Cong. Kristine Alexie Tutor and Cong. Vanessa Aumentado.
First Gen Visayas Energy presented the Bohol Renewable Energy Power Project for the exploration, development and utilization of renewable energy in the towns of San Miguel, Pilar, and Ubay.
The PDC executive committee is tasked to formulate long-term, medium term, and annual socio-economic development plans and policies as well as appraise and prioritize socio-economic development programs and projects, the medium-term and annual public investment programs, local investment incentives.
In turn, this is intended to promote the inflow and direction of private investment capital, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of development programs and projects and perform such other functions as may be provided by law or component authority.
During the same meeting, the Zillion Mega Watts Group Corporation showcased its proposal for the 2×100 MW Solar Power Plant Project under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Special Land Use Permit/Agreement.
This has a total area of 906 hectares located in San Vicente, Ubay and the 2×50 MW Corella Solar Power Plant located in barangay Canangca-an, Corella.
Meanwhile, San Miguel Global Power Holdings Corporation also endorsed its project of a 20 MW Battery Energy Storage System in barangay Imelda, Ubay as a perfect combination with the previous proposed solar and renewable energy sources located in Bohol.
The Department of Agriculture – RFO 7 meanwhile endorsed the Philippine Powered Irrigation Project dedicated for water supply for farm lands and rice fields.
Each presented proposal was duly approved by the presiding committee with consequence of fulfillment of the appropriate details and documents to be submitted and presented later.
A proposal to create a new Moslem public cemetery in Bilar was made by lawyer Handel Lagunay, Provincial Legal Office head, since existing cemeteries has reached maximum capacity prompting their adherents to seek assistance for a new cemetery to bury their deceased loved ones on the ground which was approved and signed by Aumentado.
On the other hand, Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, Provincial Health Office chief, requested assistance for the purchase of 17,000 doses for Pertussis or whooping cough for the next four months with infants the most at risk with this disease.
The Proposed Supplemental Investment Program No.2 for 2024 was approved by the committee considering the urgency of the requests from the local government units and provincial government offices. (PIMO/RJG)
