Boholano actress-comedienne Scarlet Guelen-Boiser dies at 53

Scarlet, known for her roles in “Oki Doki Doc” and “Magnifico,” died Monday, April 1, after admitted in a hospital in Tagbilaran City. She was 53.

The death of the actress-comedienne was confirmed by her close friends who announced her passing in the social media Facebook.

Leah Scarnet “Laiilette” Jo Guelen-Boiser in real life, Scarlet’s career began in comedy sitcom “Oki Doki Doc” on ABS-CBN in 1993-2003 starring Aga Muhlach.

While doing some teleseryes on ABS-CBN, Scarlet moved to GMA Network. She starred on “Munting Heredera” and “Dwarfina” directed by the late Boholano director Maryo Delos Reyes. She also had a prominent role in GMA 7’s Diva, the country’s first kantaserye topbilled by Regine Velasquez.

She also starred in an indie film “Pendong,” “Magnifico” and “Nandito Ako..Nagmamahal Sa Yo.”
