Bohol’s maiden KADIWA ng Pangulo fair generated a total sale of more than P1.1 million from its 108 exhibitors from March 15-17.
The agri and trade fair drew 13,598 buyers according to a report by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the partner agency tasked in the consolidation of reports.
The first edition of the KADIWA ng Pangulo was spearheaded by the provincial government in partnership with DTI, Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD).
The exhibitors were micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) assisted by the said agencies.
Organizers also linked with the Bohol Association of Hotels Resorts and Restaurants, the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Panglao Chamber Commerce and Industry for market matching.
Provincial administrator Asteria Caberte stressed that the agriculture and trade fair purposefully initiated matching activities with institutional partners to ensure that KADIWA achieves its goal of higher income for farmers and entrepreneurs.
KADIWA or Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita will be cascaded to Local Government Units (LGUs) in the succeeding 15th and 30th of each month beginning in April.
Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado is set to issue a memo to enjoin LGUs in the holding of the succeeding KADIWA events.
Aumentado, during the opening program, stressed that this aligns with efforts of the provincial government, under its strategic change agenda, to stabilize food prices and ensure food sufficiency with the KADIWA as an additional market. (PIMO/LMS)
