Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado reiterated his administration’s strong composition of the Capitol’s management executive board (MEB).
He emphasized this point during a special press conference on Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, after a Boholano citizen accused the Capitol of having “multiple governors”.
“I have (a) strong MEB. Kining mga department heads sa tagsa-tagsang opisina sa Kapitolyo, mao ni’y gobernador sa ilang department,” Aumentado said.
He added, “sila man ang nagpadagan, and of course, with our leadership, sila mu-report. Ug na’y kinahanglanon nga desisyon, at the end of the day, ang gobernador mu-decide para sa atong probinsya sa Bohol.”
Aumentado also said that if there’s another official with similar responsibilities to the governor, it would be provincial administrator Asteria Caberte.
“Klaro kaayo iyang mandate nga maoy mag-administrador sa Kapitolyo, ma-anaa ko o wala,” he added.
The governor denied the insinuations, emphasizing his “consultative” administration which signifies each office’s mandate.
“I don’t know nganong muingon sila og gobernador. Ato nang EA (executive assistant) nang uban ana (nga) ilang gipanghinganlan, atong chief of staff ilang gipahinganlan, naa na sila’y tagsa-tagsang mga functions,” he underscored.
The concerned citizen also asserted that a potential investor refrained from further investing in Bohol due to the alleged corruption, a charge which Aumentado denied.
“Hinganli (ang opisyal) kay ‘naay OGAR (Office of Governance Accountability and Reform). Gigama ang OGAR not for the past admin but apil ang present administration.”
“Og dili ka kuntento sa OGAR, then pwede ta muhangyo sa taga-NBI na atong ipa-imbestigar. Pero og dili ka makahatag og ngan, sigurado ko, nahadlok ka basin balikan kay kanang imoha puros tumo-tumo,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Aumentado ended the conference by answering questions from the local press about the latest updates on the developmental programs and investments of the provincial government anchored on his strategic change agenda. (PIMO/JSS)
