A house in Barangay Manga in Tagbilaran City caught fire on Wednesday evening, August 14, killing two children, and injuring their father.
According to F/CInsp. Matt Reil Pono, City Fire Marshal, the fire started at 8:10 p.m., affecting threw houses that are all made of light materials.
The fire was put under control around 8:15 p.m. and extinguished at 8:30 p.m
The children, aged 3 and 1, were not able to get out of the house. Their father identified as Edgardo Lasco was injured.
The fire started from the house Lasco.
According to Mayor Jane Yap, Lasco was brought to Gov. Celestino Gallares Medical. Center for treatment. He suffered injury after trying to save his children.
However, he is in critical condition.
In a radio interview, Yap said the city government will shoulder the funeral of the charred bodies of the children and the hospital expenses of the father.
She added that the responders and medical team were quick to respond.
