Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado told members of the Bohol Media to “tell the truth and nothing but the truth” during a Christmas gathering hosted by Aumentado and his wife, 2nd dist. Rep. Vanessa Aumentado, held at their residence in Dauis town on Dec. 23.
“I hope sunod tuig magpadayun nga magkahiusa, padayun nga magtinabangay, padayun ta nga magsibya sa katawhan [kung] unsay tinuod nga balita aron dili malingla kung unsay tinuod or unsay dili,” said Aumentado.
The governor underlined the pivotal role of the Media in functioning of democracy.
He also said that it is the responsibility of everyone connected with the media, be it journalists or owners of newspapers and other forms of communication, to be truthful.
“Mas maayo nga atong ibalita ang tinuod nga balita sa lalawigan sa Bohol,” Aumentado added.
There were at least 145 members of the media and office personnel from different outfits in the province attended the event.
Veteran broadcast journalist Bob Galero emceed the program.
