Classes and work in government offices and public and private schools in Bohol province have been suspended on Monday, Dec. 18, due to Tropical Depression “Kabayan.”
In a statement Sunday night, Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado said the suspension covers government offices and classes at all levels in both public and private schools.
Aumentado said private establishments are given the discretion to declare suspension of work for their employees.
However, offices whose functions involve the delivery of health services, preparedness and response to disaster and calamities, and/or performance of vital functions shall continue with their operations.
“The suspension of classes and work in government offices is a preventive step for all Boholanos, primarily to ensure their safety and for them to be with their respective families in this weather disturbance,” said Aumentado.
Residents, especially those living in low-lying and coastal areas and those in elevated and mountainous areas, are advised to take extra precaution against the threat of flooding and/or rain-induced landslides.
Bohol was placed unfer storm signal no. 1.
All boat trips were cancelled since Sunday morning.
