The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bohol in partnership with Alturas Group of Companies formally opened the 3rd Holiday Market and Crafts Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Island City Mall (ICM).
Forty-five product development-assisted enterprises by DTI are showcasing their handcrafted items and food products during the five-day fair.
The fair has not only surpassed sales in the last three years but has also grown in exhibitor turnout, according to Vierna Ligan, DTI OIC provincial director.
Ligan along with Mario Cirujales, ICM manager, lawyer Handel Lagunay, Provincial Legal Officer, representing Gov. Aris Aumentado, Marietta Gasatan, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry VP for External Affairs, lawyer Abeleon Damalerio, chief of staff of Rep. Edgar Chatto, JP Maslog representing Rep. Vanessa Aumentado and Katherine Inte representing Rep. Alexie Tutor led the ribbon cutting rites.
“The provincial government supports DTI and this holiday market and crafts fair as it aligns with our strategic change agenda of developing and enhancing our creative industry and economy while embracing our heritage,” Aumentado said in a message delivered for him by Lagunay.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap for her part thanked DTI as a partner in progress through programs that foster creativity, talent and entrepreneurship of the province and region.
DTI also awarded winners of the digital poster making contest winners for consumer welfare month namely Karyle Delantes of Holy Name University, first; Anna Rina Oncog, Bohol Island State University (BUSU) main campus, second; Karl Sologuasta, BISU main campus, third; Mark Jason De Gozar, Trinidad Municipal College, fourth; and Angelie Josol of Bohol Wisdom School, fifth.
