A few days before the campaign, the candidates for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in the town of Jagna, Bohol attended the “One Jagna Kontra Bigay sa Piniliay” on Monday afternoon, Oct. 16, to end vote buying in the upcoming elections.
There were 692 candidates from 33 barangays of Jagna attended the “One Jagna Kontra Bigay sa Piniliay” started by Jagna Mayor Joseph Rañola.

Rañola appealed to the candidates not to buy votes to stop corruption in the entire political system.
“No need to spend, no need to pay. Vote buying is a big insult to Jagnaanons,” he said.
It was also attended by various agencies from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Bohol Provincial Police Office represented by Lt. Col. Joseph Berondo, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) represented by Central Visayas Regional. Director Leocadio Trovela, and Talibon Bishop Patrick Daniel Parcon.
In the end the candidates came to an agreement and signed the integrity pledge wall.
Allan Salas, a barangay kagawad candidate, said he favored the “One Jagna Kontra Bigay sa Piniliay”.
“I agree, what a noble cause to change the face politics here,” said Salas in a local dialect.
