Meralco Foundation gives solar panels to Bohol schools

At least four elementary schools in Getafe and Bien Unido towns on Saturday received solar photovoltaic technology and TV sets from Manila Electric Company’s corporate social responsibility arm, One Meralco Foundation (OMF) in collaboration with Meralco Employees Fund for Charity Inc.

The schools in Pandanon, Nasingin, Banacon in Getafe and Sagasa in Bien Unido received solar panels, television sets, laptops, and printers.

Present during the turned-over ceremony were program manager Rainier Manguiat, Meralco Spectrum Engr. Jay Lim, One Meralco staff, Gov. Aris Aumentado, Rep. Vanessa Aumentado and Getafe Mayor Cary Camacho.

Also attended the event were Dep-Ed family led by Dr. Bianito Dagatan, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Danilo Gudelusao, Schools Division Asst. Superintendent, Dr. Faustino Toradia- Schools Division Asst. Superintendent, school heads Elisea Estoce, Maria Ima Abarre, Ma. Julieta Cabading, Maria Fe Gumanit, and the barangay officials.

“We are happy to attend the turn-over ceremony because it is a great help to our students and to improve the education system in the province of Bohol,” said Gov. Aumentado.

The Meralco Foundation has already provided sustainable source of energy to schools in remote villages and hard-to-reach island communities in Bohol.
