PANGLAO, Bohol — In response to a recent theft incident at Alona Beach, Governor Erico Aris Aumentado personally inspected the area on March 1 as part of efforts to strengthen security measures for tourists and local residents.
Accompanied by personnel from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Aumentado assessed strategic locations where advanced closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed to enhance monitoring and surveillance in the area.
The move forms part of the provincial government’s broader initiative to ensure that Alona Beach remains peaceful and protected from criminal activity.
Aside from installing high-tech digital CCTV systems, the governor also emphasized the need for stronger police visibility.
Plans are underway to establish additional police outposts around the beachfront to boost law enforcement presence and enable faster response to emergencies and crime reports.
The inspection came after a Taiwanese couple was reportedly robbed while dining at Alona Beach.
The Aumentado administration assured the public that it remains firm in its campaign against criminal elements, vowing to safeguard the community and preserve Bohol’s reputation as a premier tourist destination.
