61-yr-old man dies after hit by concrete mixer truck in Dauis

A 61-year-old man was killed after a concrete mixer truck hit him while working in a bridge in Dauis town on Saturday morning, March 25.

According to Police Corporal Ariel Luayon of Dauis Police Station, the deceased was identified as Elpedio Lupar, who worked as a carpenter at the construction site of Dauis-Panglao Bridge.

He said the incident happened past 8 a.m.

According to initial investigation, Lupar was helping Carlomagno Deloy, 43, the driver of the cement mixer truck, to pour cement on the post of the bridge being constructed.

However, one of the truck’s wheels fell by the side of the road. The truck leaned to its side and directly fell on Lupar that caused his instant death.

Deloy immediately fled the area to hide inna bunkhouse but he voluntarily surrendered when police were in the area.

Deloy will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
