VP Sara plants trees in Bohol

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte joined the tree-planting activity for the celebration of National Teachers’ Month on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The official shared photos on her Facebook page crouching to plant some trees.

Also seen in the photos was presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos.

“Ang pagtatanim ng mga puno ay magsisilbing paalala sa kontribusyon ng mga guro sa buhay ng bawat mag-aaral at sa kaunlaran ng bansa, ” she wrote.

The tree-planting activity happened at the Taloto Elementary School in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

This year’s National Teachers Day kicked off on September 5 in Tagbilaran City with more than 2, 000 teachers from Regions 6,7, and 8 who attended the launch.

With the theme Together4Teachers, this event is a month-long celebration under the Presidential Proclamation No. 242 series of 2011 from September 5, ending on October 5, or World Teachers’ Day, which is celebrated annually across the globe.
