Jake “El Bambino” Amparo scored the most important win in his life by earning a well-deserved 12-round unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten, world-ranked Goki Kobayashi on Saturday evening, August 5, 2023, at the Central Gym in Kobe, Japan.

The 25-year-old Amparo, one of the banner boxers of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable, won against Kobayashi by winning via unanimous decision the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific minimumweight title.

The victory improved Amparo’s record to 14 wins with three knockouts, four losses, and one draw.

With the riveting victory, Amparo not only wins the coveted WBO Asia Pacific Minimumweight Strap, but also most likely gets a deserved place in the world rankings because Kobayashi has been ranked as high as WBO #4 in the world.

Official scores were 117-109, and 114-112 (x2), all in favor of Amparo.
