Three young Boholano athletes successfully represented Central Visayas region in the recently-concluded Palarong Pambansa in Makati City, National Capital Region.
Ma. Emely Balunan of Garcia Hernandez, Justin Manuel Rosario of Jagna, and Liznie Delfino of Baclayon were products of Track and Field Grassroots Development Program under the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) of the Province of Bohol.
Balunan, a high school student, took home two medals, silver medal in the 800-meter dash and gold in the 400-meter dash.
Rosario snatched bronze medal in the 1500-meter run for elementary categoery.
While Delfino failed to get a medal, she ranked 5th in the 3000-meter run for secondary category.
The Provincial Government of Bohol, in a Facebook post, congratulated the three, citing their Palarong Pambansa stint as a “milestone” as the sports development program of the province continues to develop homegrown athletes.
Palarong Pambansa 2023 was held in Makati City, July 29 to August 5, 2023.
