Tagbilaran City is hailed as this year’s Sandugo street dancing champion which culminated on Sunday, July 30.
They received P500, 000 in cash prize. Tagbilaran City also bagged the Best in Costume, Best in Street Dancing and Best in Musicality.
Loay, on the other hand, was declared second placer, while Carmen was 3rd placer.
A total of 10 contingents joined in the come back of Sandugo street dancing competition after it went on hiatus for three years due the coronavirus pandemic.
In his festival message, Gov. Aris Aumentado said Sandugo will also nurture and promote the Boholano brand of hard work, creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness through colorful activities and artistic presentations.
“As an integral part of this administration’s Strategic Change Agenda, the Sandugo is not just celebrating our Boholano way of life, it is exalting the richness of our heritage, arts, culture, and creative industries, and most importantly, our collective desires and aspirations, ” said Aumentado.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap said “TAGBILARAN this WIN is for you.”
“Your hard work, dedication, and attention to detail made this competition a resounding success. The seamless execution of the event showcased your commitment to promoting the heritage, arts and culture of Bohol,” Yap said.
