DUERO, Bohol — Duero has stepped into the spotlight this holiday season as Alcasas Resort in Barangay Itum unveiled its Christmas Village on Friday, September 12, dazzling guests with lights, music, and a touch of Disney-inspired magic.

For many residents, it was a rare spectacle. Hundreds flocked to the resort on opening night to witness what is now regarded as the first and largest Christmas display in the province.

Resort owner Gayza Mae Batolanon said the project was envisioned as a “magical destination” where families could begin celebrating the Christmas season as early as September.

Inside the Christmas Village, towering castles, colorful light installations, and familiar characters like Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Elsa and Anna of Frozen, and Tinker Bell transport visitors to a world of fantasy.

Carols echo throughout the venue, while live character performances each night bring smiles to children and adults alike.

The experience goes beyond spectacle. Snowfall effects, photo-friendly corners, and even a twinkling swimming pool add to the festive atmosphere.

To complete the holiday treat, the resort’s restaurant serves local favorites such as native chicken adobo.

For children and adults, the magic is undeniable.

The Alcasas Christmas Village will welcome visitors until January, open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at P100 for adults and P70 for children, with free entry for kids three years old and below.
