Bohol province has lost its status of being the only local government unit (LGU) in Central Visayas to not have a single case of African Swine Flu.
Cases of African swine fever (ASF) were detected in Barangay Vicente in Pilar town.
Last Friday, July 28, Gov. Aris Aumentado released Executive Order No. 37 to prevent the movement and transport of swine, pork and pork products.
The order said suspected cases of ASF have been reported to have already occurred in the province.
It said there is a need to implement immediate measures to control any potential outbreak of ASF, which include the establishment of Infected/Quarantine Zones.
In Alicia town, checkpoint is conducted by the local government.
The Bureau of Animal Industry said that 9 regions and 16 provinces have ASF cases.
