A 38-year-old woman in Panglao town, Bohol was arrested after she was allegedly caught engaging in an illegal numbers game called ‘swertres.’
Margie Nabua, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Panglao, Bohol was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion, Panglao past 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18.
Recovered and confiscated from her possession and control P123 cash believed to be proceeds of illegal numbers game, two pieces Improvised tally sheet, P50 bill used as bet money, one piece flex stick color black ball pen and carbon paper.
In Dauis, Jocelyn Emilgo, 40, a resident of Upper Songculan, Dauis, Bohol for violation of RA 9287 (Illegal Swertres), paat 8 p. m. on Tuesday.
Recovered from the suspect were paraphernalia for the numbers game and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal gambling.
Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9287 will be filed against the women, police said.
The Bohol Police Provincial Office has warned that it will intensify its campaign against illegal gambling.
