The city government of Tagbilaran City will receive a sea ambulance from the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7).

It is among the five sea ambulances that DOH-7 has allocated to some local government units in the region.

Yesterday, two units of sea ambulance were turned over to the municipalities of Bantayan and Sta. Fe in Cebu.

Each ambulance unit costs P3 million pesos and is equipped with the following: ambulance stretcher, automatic external defibrillator, nebulizer, portable suction machine, examining light, an aneroid sphygmomanometer, heavy-duty stethoscope, and oxygen cylinder, among others.

The 2 Sea Ambulances were among the 5 units that DOH Central Visayas is set to allocate in the different LGUs in the region. Also to receive are the municipalities of Medellin and Daanbantayan in Cebu to be delivered in the coming months.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Dr. Guy Perez, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Health CV CHD together with the two mayors of the recipient LGUs, Mayor Ithamar Espinosa of Municipality of Santa Fe and Mayor Arthur Despi of Municipality of Bantayan.

“Sa kadugay sa panahon nga kita naghandom sa maong ambulance sa dagat, sara ari na gayud og aton na gayud magamit kung adunay mga emerhensiya sa mga islet Barangays,” said Mayor Despi.
