Jagna Mayor Joseph Rañola said on Monday that he would resign from office.
Rañola said his resignation would take effect in December. Vice Mayor Teofista Pagar will be sworn in to replace him.
He said he would be back in Manila to focus in his Center for National Budget, a
consultancy firm assisting senators and congressmen and other national agencies on national budget.
“Dili kinahanglan nga mayor ka or naay titulo or position nga mutabang ka. Mas makabatang ko sa Jagna kung mubalik ko sa Manila,” he said.
Rañola became mayor in 2019.
