After four years, the Miss Bohol Pageant is back.
Boholanos will have the chance to witness Miss Bohol 2023, as one of the highlights for this year’s Sandugo festival.
The 20 official candidates were introduced on Tuesday, June 13, during the sashing and press presentation at the New Bohol Capitol.
According Rep. Maria Vanessa Cadorna-Aumento, the honorary project chairman, the sashing marks the formal ushering of the candidates into the Miss Bohol family.
“The sashes are the symbols of the candidates’ formal acceptance of their roles and responsibilities, affirm their commitment and participation as ambassadors of goodwill, always spread positivity and inspire others as pageantry is said to be beacon of hope and joy amidsts uncertainties and obstacles, ” said Aumentado, who was Miss Bohol Sandugo 2001.
The official candidates for Miss Bohol 2023 are Jennifer Curiba (Alicia), Niña Luz Makinano (Anda), Julianna Pewrl Ayco (Antequera), Jaenine Carulasan (Baclayon), Mel Rose Oliverio (Batuan), Girlee Joy Melencion (Buenavista), Niane Mae Dante (Corella), Marielle Frances Ramos (Dauis), Gwenefer Adorable Cagata (Dimiao), Desiree Gerenia (Duero), Marvi Love Baculio (Guindulman), Apple Mae Añana (Inabanga), Roseanna Salas (Jagna), Trishia Marie Libres (Lila), Lunica Mae Logronio (Loon), Sheila Marie Fraser (Panglao), Kyra Rei Hopkins (Tagbilaran), Rose Jane Israel (Trinidad), Mia Lei Mateo (Tubigon), and Antonette Tagud (Valencia).
The Boholano Night is on July 8. It is a costume design competirion featuring the creation of Bohol-based designers.
The Miss Bohol 2023 coronation night is set on July 15, 2023.
