More than 200 hectares of land in three towns in Bohol province were destroyed by fire that raged for nearly 16 hours.
The blaze started around 2 p.m. on Sunday at Mabini and Ubay towns that burned the grass, bushes, and trees.
At 5 p. m., the blazed moved to Alicia town at the Alicia Panoramic Park that burned at least 200 ha and was placed under control at 6 a.m. on Monday, according to FO1 John Marvin Mangubat of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Alicia.
The official raised fears that the grass fires in the hilly areas could reach households.
Mangubat said there was no one injured during the incident.
He added that no structures were reported to have been burned.
Authorities believe the fires were sparked by extreme heat.
