TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — Local authorities has reminded Bol-anons to stay indoors and hydrate themselves as some parts of the province have experienced the highest heat index in the previous days.

In an advisory, the Bohol Provincial Government also advised companies to conduct their outdoor activities early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid heat-related conditions such as heat stroke, exhaustion, and dehydration.

State weather bureau Pagasa has recorded the highest heat index in the country in Dauis town at 44 degrees Celsius last April 17.

According to the Heat Index chart, a temperature that ranges from 42 to 51 degrees Celsius is considered under the “Danger” category, which means “heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely”.
