JUST IN: Ubay gasoline robbery suspects nabbed

Police on Wednesday (April 19) nabbed three robbery suspects who reportedly took away P390, 000 from a gasoline station in Barangay San Pascual in Ubay town.

The suspects were identified in a spot report sent by Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) as  Florencio Yangson Pelonia, 54, married, security guard and a resident of Purok 3, Lumbog, Guindulman, Bohol (driver-gunman); Rogelio Tama Edisa Jr, , 27, and a resident of Tampilisan, Zamboanga Del Norte and presently residing at Barangay Cabulihan Zamora Bilar Bohol (backrider-gunman); and Jerry Ligtas Ofamin, 37, single with live-in partner and a resident of Brgy. Bato, Guindulman, Bohol (informant-look-out).

They were arrested about 5:13 pm of April 19, 2023 at Purok in Barangay Guinacot, Guildulman, Bohol.

The hot pursuit operations was lauched by PNP personnel from Ubay Police Station led by Major Romar Labasbas, BPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit led by Col. Joemar Sabellano and Guildulman Police. Station led by Jurell Darunday after they were positively identified by the eye witnesses.

Recovered from their possession and control were:

Suspect 1- One (1) unit color silver STI RANGER II cal.45 pistol with steel magazine loaded with 4 live ammunitions;

  1. Color black Holster;
  2. Cash money amounting to (P15,500);
  3. One (1) unit Honda XRM 125 Fi color red and black combination; and
  4. OR/CR.

Suspect 2- 1.One (1) color black sling bag containing,

  1. One (1) unit color silver STI EDGE cal. 45 pistol with steel magazine loaded with 5 live ammunitions;
  2. Cash money amounting to (P10, 243);
  3. Drivers license;
  4. Swiss knife;
  5. Photography of Sailors Oil Gasoline Station;
  6. One (1) Suzuki Raider 150 color gray;
  7. One (1) Black Helmet; and
  8. OR/CR of the motorcycle of the suspect.
    Suspect 3- 1.One (1) unit Honda wave 110 color orange and black combination; and
  9. OR/CR.

It has been reported that the three suspects consummated the henious robbery with homicide incident in Purok 2, San Pascual, Ubay Bohol targetting Sailor Oil Gasoline Station owned by MVC Corporation at past 5:20 afternoon of April 17, 2023.

The CCTV footage turned viral on the social media showing the suspects evil actions and even shooting to death by one of the victims, Marlowie Amparado, 29, married, a security guard (Escort) and a resident of Barangay Trinidad, Guildulman Bohol and also injured Pastor Tronueva legal age, married, a security guard and a resident of Dagohoy, Bohol.

Reportedly the suspects successfully took the victim’s collected sales amounting to more or less P390,000.

This significant and immediate solution of the robbery case was made possible by the joint cooperation and efforts of Bohol PPO personnel under the command of its provincial director Col Lorenzo Batuan.

Batuan personnally supervised the conduct of follow up investigation and hot pursuit operations which successfully resulted to the arrest of the suspects. This was also made possible with the active support of the community and stakeholders.
