2,250 ‘Odette’ survivors in Ubay town get aid from NHA

The National Housing Authority (NHA) has distributed cash assistance to 2,250 families of Ubay town in Bohol who lost their homes to Typhoon “Odette” on Friday, March 24.

The NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program aid of P10,000 each was distributed in Casate, Bood, Poblacion, Tapon and Cacambugan.

Gov. Aris Aumentado and provincial administrator Aster Caberte attended the event. Ubay councilor Violeta Reyes represented Mayor Constantino Reyes.

Aumentado said only those whose houses were destroyed were covered by the NHA aid.

Ubay was the first to receive aid based on Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center or Dromic data.

“After diri sa Ubay, musunod na ang ubang mga lungsod,” said Aumentado.

The town of Ubay was badly hit by typhoon Odette in 2021.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), there are 80,000 damaged houses that must be repaired.

The typhoon left 111 individuals dead.
