3 suspects in killing of Gov. Degamo arrested

Two ex-army and one civilian suspects in the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo were arrested in a joint hot pursuit operation on Saturday.

The suspects were identified as Joric Labrador, 50, married, ex-army and resident of Cagayan De Oro City; Joven Aber, 42, married, ex-army ranger and resident of Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Oriental; and Benjie Rodriguez, 45, married and a resident of Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental.

They were arrested at 4:20 p. m. by a joint operation of Police Regional Office-7, PNP Special Action Force and Philippine Army in Sitio Punong, Barangay Cansumalig, Bayawan. City, Negros Oriental.

A .45 caliber pistol,a magazine full of live ammunition and three identification cards were recovered from the suspects.

Police are still conducting a hot pursuit operation for the other suspects.

Degamo, who traced his roots in Bohol, was shot death on Saturday morning at his residence in Pamplona.
