Heavy rains force suspension of work, classes in Bohol

The province of Bohol on Tuesday declared the suspension of classes in all levels for both private and public schools as well as work in government offices in this province due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains brought by the low pressure area.

Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado declared a province-wide cancellation of classes in all levels.

Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite also ordered a province-wide work suspension. in a separate memorandum.

However, work in hospitals, and in offices performing emergency and disaster operations shall not be disrupted to ensure continuity of needed ground response and interventions. 

Balite said suspension of work in the private sector is at the discretion of company management.

As of 2 p.m., the state weather bureau had placed Bohol under red rainfall warning.

The “red” warning, which has more than 30 mm of rainfall, signals flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.
