Members of the Danao Beach Community Association (DBCA) led by its president, Angie Vidas Hoffman, brought cheers to children of Barangay Danao in Panglao town on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.
Hoffman, together with other members, spearheaded a gift-giving event for more than 500 children at the village covered court.
“Christmas is for children. It would not be complete if we don’t see their smiles and joys,” she said.
The annual gift-giving was stopped during the pandemic.
During the event, DBCA members reminded the youth to study well since education will lift them out of poverty. They also persuaded the children to plant trees and keep the surrounding clean.
Apart from gifts, children were also treated to other game activities.
Founded in 2009, DBCA has 25 members. They are GO2Dive, Nora’s Place, GuitarWoodHouse, Mist, JJ@Daorong Bungalows, Coco Mango, Linaw Beach Resort/Casa Gardenia, LostBoys Dive Adventure, Alona42, Selectum Mangrove, Solea Coast, Panglao Tropical Villas, Deep Blue Dive Resort, Be Grand Resort, Azul de Panglao, Kalachuchi Inn, Azahar Resort, Bohol South Beach Hotel, PHILM Laundry Services and Intoy’s Place/Let’s Go Natural.
James Zhang, owner of GuitarWoodHouse Music and Restor Bar, was happy to join the event.
“This is a very happy day for me because we can somehow give our children a merry Christmas,” he said.
