After SM Supermalls, Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) and Puregold Price Club are set to build their branches in Bohol province.

Gov. Aris Aumentado said on Saturday that Robinsons Malls, one of the largest shopping malls and retail operators in the Philippines, would expand its shopping mall footprint.

“We welcome Robinsons to invest in Bohol,” said Aumentado.

The Bohol branch plans to create a hub that locals can make part of their daily routine while offering a unique experience where closely-knit families would love to shop and dine.

RLC is banking on Bohol’s rising economy, which it noted as a popular tourist destination.

On the other hand, Puregold Price Club, Inc. is aiming to establish eight stores in the province.

Aumentado said Puregold plans to build stores in Ubay, Jagna, Talibon, Tubigon, Carmen, Loay, Panglao and Tagbilaran.

“Malipayon ko nga gusto sila musulod sa Bohol. Kung naay investors, makahatag kini og kalambuan ug trabaho sa mga Bol-anon,” Aumentado said.

Last Wednesday, Engr. Bien Mateo, SM Supermalls Senior Vice President and his team, met Aumentado for the new construction of a mall that will bring employment opportunities to at least 3,000 Boholanos.

The new mall will be located near Camp Bernido in Barangay Dao in Tagbilaran City after SM Supermalls’ holding company, the SM Prime Holdings, Inc., had purchased at least 7 hectares in Tagbilaran.

“We are very happy to hear from the governor that we are welcome here in Bohol, investor friendly ang provincial government.. A big factor for us to really expedite for development in Bohol,” said Mateo after his meeting with Aumentado.

“I am happy we are welcome here in Bohol. We felt Bohol is business- friendly,” he added.
