Vice Mayor Cesyl Balahay is the new mayor of Alicia town, the provincial Interior and Local Government said.
In a certification issued by provincial director Jerome Gonzales, Balahay is the incumbent mayor of Alicia after she assumed office by succession on Aug. 3.
“Busa karun tuguti ko ninyu sa pagpasabot. Dili man nako ipamugos akung kaugalingon na mulingkod isip mayor, kay lagi ang atung gidaganan isip pagkabise-mayor man. Pero andam ko musawo sa responsibilidad kay lagi ang pamulitika gi gusto ug gipili. Karun, sumula sa gihatag na certification gikan na mismo sa opisina sa atung DILG Provincial Director, sukad niadtong AGOSTO 3,” said Balahay on her Facebook post.

Mayor Marnilou Ayuban who won in May 2022 elections has yet to show up after an arrest warrant of was issued against him prior to his assumption into office.
He was convicted of graft.
On June 16, Judge Jorge Espinal of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 51 in Carmen, Bohol issued a warrant of arrest against Ayuban and former councilors Paul Villas, the current municipal budget officer, and Eusebio Ayuban Jr.
This prompted Ayuban to designate Municipal Administrator Junavie Piquero as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Mayor from June 30, 2022 to July 15, 2022 through a June 30 memorandum order.
