A waterspout—known locally as “ipo-ipo”—was filmed off the coast of Tagbilaran, Bohol, on Wednesday, June 22.
Residents captured the waterspout’s sudden appearance on the horizon at around 10:58 a. m.
Others went live on Facebook to record the weather phenomenon.
The watersprout quickly dissipated after two minutes.
Fortunately, according to authorities, nobody was hurt.
Waterspouts are uncommon but well-known phenomena, especially among fishermen and coastal residents.
