Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte were proclaimed by Congress sitting as national board of canvassers as 17th President and 15th Vice President of the Philippines, respectively.

The two Houses of Congress, convening as National Board of Canvassers, formally ended the canvassing of votes after it “completed” its tally of all certificates of canvass (COCs) in the May 9, 2022 elections at past 3:30 pm on Wednesday.

As of 3:36 pm, 98.84% or 171 out of 173 COCs indicated Marcos as the winner by landslide, clinching an unprecedented 31,629,783 votes or 58.77% of the total number of votes.

Duterte garnered a higher number notching a whopping 32,208,417 votes or 61.53%

Ending up at a distant second place were ‘pink’ tandem Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis ‘Kiko” Pangilinan with the former getting 15,035,773 or 27.94% and the latter grabbing 9,329,207 or 17.82%.
