A 33-year-old man drowned Sunday (May 22) morning while swimming in a spring in Candijay town, a police report said.
Report said Rolly Tura, a resident of Barangay Gabi in Cordova, Cebu, was dragged by the strong currents when he went for a swim in Canawa Spring around 10 a.m.
Witness said it was raining and the water rose up.
The victim was rescued by personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard, Tarsier 117 and Candijay Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office at around 4:30 p. m.
