For their selfless dedication, Bohol Second District Rep. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado expressed his gratitude to the heroes of the power sector during the typhoon Odette restoration efforts.

“We have seen the efforts and sacrifices of our linemen and workers from your cooperatives (BOHECO I and II) and other electric distribution companies who have to lend a hand in helping us fix the power line, which was affected by the said storm,” Aumentado said in a statement.

Typhoon Odette devastated the province of Bohol on December 16, 2021. Badly-hit were the towns of second district.

Aumentado also emphasized that with their effort, Boholanos will enjoy the benefits of electricity once again and that their lives will slowly return to normal.

“It is of great joy for everyone to see those lights shining once again. We will be with you in making sure that everyone will have their taste of electricity once again, up until the last one will have their ray of light shining through their homes, ” he said.

Aumentado also recognized BOHECO I and II and other power distribution utilities in their part on fixing the power of northern Bohol: Albay Power and Energy Corporation (APEC), Samar I Electric Cooperative (SAMELCO I), Samar II Electric Cooperative (SAMELCO II), Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO), Leyte V Electric Cooperative (LEYECO V) from Ormoc City, and Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative (DORELCO) from Tacloban City.

His father, the late Governor Erico B. Aumentado, was the one responsible for the completion of the Leyte-Bohol Interconnection Project (LBIP), which ensured a stable supply of electricity from the geothermal plant in Leyte, the congressman assured Boholanos that he will not stop until Bohol finally has its very own power supply.

“I must make sure that the legacy of serving Boholanos through the provision of enough power will continue by having an inland-based power source,” he said. (PR/jja)
