Deaths ascribed to coronavirus disease (Covid-19), from September 20 to October 20 plunged down 71% when compared to the deaths tallied from October 20 to November 20.

Based on the data shared by the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force on the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (BIATF), deaths associated with Covid from September 20 to October 20, reached 138, or a daily average of 4.6.

This means that between September 20 to October 20, 46 patients suffering from Covid infection died in every 1,000 cases.

From October 20 to November 20 however, BIATF, which uses data provided by the Bohol Emergency Operations Center and the base of operations for all Covid related responses, said there were only 40 cases of deaths recorded in a month.

Simply, in the last month, the 40 deaths recorded has a daily Covid mortality average of 1.33 or 13 Covid patients in every 1000 succumbed to the fatal viral disease.

As to active cases, last September 20, the day recorded 2,273 active cases.

Exactly a month later, of by October 20, Bohol recorded 530 active Covid cases as proven by confirmed Covid tests by the gold standard for case detection.

This is already a 77% reduction in active Covid cases.

Moreover, by November 20, or exactly a month after October 20, active Covid cases in Bohol further dwindled to 86.

This is already a staggering 84% less than the active case count a month before.

This as Bohol continues to see encouraging data with the vaccination already showing its desired effects on case reduction and reduced mortalities due to the promised protection brought about by the inoculations. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
