With the vaccine supply backlog and the recent arrival of the 200 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccines last October 16, Bohol will push for a 25,000 a day vaccine accomplishment, says the spokesperson of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (BIATF-EID).

Speaking during the recent meeting of the BIATF Strategic Communications Cluster Monday, BIATF spokesperson Dr Cesar Tomas Lopez said with the arrival of the 35,490 vials which is equivalent to 212,940 vaccine doses, Bohol can already accelerate its vaccination rollout.

In his previous statements, Dr Lopez said Bohol has over 50 vaccine sites, even before the mobile vaccine teams were organized to bring the inoculations to the far flung areas.

During the start of the vaccine roll-out, vaccine teams averaged 150 individuals given the jabs a day, of a minimum of 7500 vaccines delivered in a day.

Now that there are more mobile teams and local government vaccine teams are getting used to the process, flooring it on the vaccination rollout appears important especially when Covid-19 related deaths still happen daily.

We need to vaccinate fast and reach to as many as we can, Governor Arthur Yap said during the meeting attended by local chief executives and heads of government agencies.

As of October 18, BIATF citing a report from the Emergency Operations Center, the base of the Provincial Vaccination Operations Center, Bohol has since March 6, 2021, given two doses for complete Covid-19 protection to 220,627.

Another 201,622 Boholanos have been given the first dose and in less than a month, would be given the second dose to get them complete protection.

As to the health workers who are prioritized in the vaccination, of the 42,652 in the master list, Bohol has accomplished 109% with 46,531 given two doses and another 33,778 awaiting for their full vaccination anytime soon.

As for Bohol’s senior citizens, in the master list are 110,592 individuals and 46,696 have been given the full protection. This is already 42.22%, excluding the 38,185 who have been initially inoculated.

For persons with comorbidities, Bohol has 85,784 in the master list, reached out to 50,507 who have been given two doses and yeat another 29,288 with initial jabs. For this sector, Bohol has attained 58.87%.

For the essential workers, 70,393 of the 145,795 in the master list have been fully vaccinated. Another 78,985 received their first doses.

In the indigent population, Bohol has pegged 577,048 in the list and has accomplished 6,196 individuals with full anti-Covid defenses. Another 14,318 are in their initial doses.

Over-all, Bohol has expended 422,249 vaccine doses: 220,627 given the two vaccine doses and another 201,622 on their first doses.

With the arrival of the 35,490 vials of 6 doses of Pfizer vaccines in each vial, Bohol now has total vaccines on stock reaching 740,932. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
