Lila Mayor Arturo “Jed” Piollo II filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection as mayor before the town’s Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Sunday, October 3.

Piollo arrived at municipal Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office accompanied by his slate.

Incumbent Vice Mayor Regina Cahiles-Salazar who is seeking reelection for a second term filed her COC as Piollo’s running mate.

Former Lila mayor Telesforo Balagosa, Gomersindo Balandra, Melchor Lapac, and Godofredo Piollo, Alex Paigan, Meghan Japson, Cely Galorio and mediaman Reynaldo” “Rey” Tutas also filed their COC.

The Piollo-Salazar tandem will run under the Nationalista Party (NP).

Piollo said he wanted to continue serving as mayor of Lila. He would focus to improve the economic enterprise, health and other social services.

He said he wants to develop the giant bamboos as part of the environmental protection effort, which was not realized due to the pandemic.

Tutas, who spent the last two decades as a broadcast journalist, was in the shortlist of bets of Piollo-Salazar tandem.

Tutas said he would use his knowledge and experience as a reporter in crafting laws in the interest of the people of Lila.

“Gusto ta mutabang para sa development sa Lila. Makatabang ta unsay matampo nato,” said Tutas.
