Neophyte Mayor-elect Dexter Muneses Ancla of Inabanga town vowed to serve regardless of political affiliation, religion, status and beliefs of every citizen of the town thru program he’s planning to implement effectively.
He told this writer in an exclusive interview this monrning that this program of non- discriminatory stance to everyone in the town has been prompted when he found out that the present administration has been allegedly selective in serving the people.
He cited as example that the non-approval of applications in the electric or water connections if the applicant is identified with the opposition. This must be corrected, he added.
Ancla confirmed that the Inabanga voters elected straight candidates under his leadership for mayor bannering Abante Inabanga. His team overpowered in the last elections the administration of incumbent Mayor Jono Jumamoy, putting to an end of the Jumamoy’s grip of the town for almost four decades.
He charted his program of government ranging from improving the agriculture sector, social services, tourism to peace and order.
He will put as top priority the peace and order to eradiate illegal drug problem in the town. He said that there are barangay officials who informed him that their some constituents who are into drugs are willing to surrender and give up drug addiction and supply for good. And he said he’s happy of this development.
Since then President Rodrigo Duterte bowed out of Malacanang, the illegal drugs issue came back and so this must be addressed even as he must be short of saying that there could be no development without peace.
He will also improve the water needs of Inabangnons as well as improving the farm-market roads apparently for an easy access and smooth transfer of the farm harvests to the market.
On tourism, the mayor-elect would tap the Inabanga river, the biggest in the province for tourism come-on. He said that there are unexplored caves for spelunking, which are more attractive than the famous Hinagdanan Cave in Dauis town, Panlao island.
Ancla said that his oath-taking as mayor-elect of this town has yet to be scheduled as the reelected Gov. Aris Aumentado and his wife congresswoman Vanvan Aumentado wanted to attend his inauguration before he takes his official duty as the mayor-elect of Inabanga, Bohol. (Ric Obedencio)
