Five more days before the month ends and deaths by coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Bohol in September has doubled the 73 total deaths recorded in August.
Data from the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force on the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, showed that from August 1 to August 25, deaths due to the highly viral Covid reached 57.
The month of August opened and picked on the 204 total deaths since May 2020 until August 1. By the end of the month, Covid deaths have reached 277 by the end of the month.
August the closed with 73 Boholanos succumbing to Covid- 19.
In September, as the month opened, Bohol has already some 280 death cases.
Twenty-five days later, deaths have reached 437, some 157 deaths occurring between September 1 to 25.
Comparing the two months, August had a daily average of 2.35 deaths in every 100 confirmed Covid cases.
By September, with 157 deaths, Bohol averaged 6.28 deaths in every 100 in a day.
The month also increased the number of persons prioritized for the vaccine, to 178,273, them having been given the second dose and attain full protection by the second week after the second jab.
Those given the initial doses also reached 172,122 as of September 22.
Given a month more, these persons would have been given their second dose of the Covid vaccine, thus increasing the total number of Boholanos with full protection.
On September 22, the Provincial Health Office also reported a total of 350,359 Boholanos who have been given the first and the second dose.
The PHO, the base of operations of the Bohol Vaccine Operations Center also reported that Bohol still 456,692 vaccines in its keeping.
Another 50,000 vaccines are set to arrive within the week, BIATF reports. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
