President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday announced that face shields will not be required outdoors in the Philippines.
“Pwede na tanggalin sa labas. No more face shields outside,” he said during his Talk to the People late-night address.
He said they will only be required in areas that are identified as “3Cs”: closed, crowded, and close-contact.
Duterte said he has ordered that the implementation guidelines be issued immediately.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has allowed cockfighting in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
