A show-cause order was served to a junkman who used a private property in Barangay Inayawan in Cebu City as his junkyard for waste materials that includes hospital waste allegedly from Bohol province.
CDN Digital reported that the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO) was still looking for a certain Ronald “Abay-Abay” Villaver, who allegedly used a private property situated at the White Road in the said barangay as junkyard.
Engr. Editha Peros, head of CCENRO, told CDN Digital on Monday, July 5, 2021, that the show-cause order hasn’t been received since Villaver wasn’t at the site.
The Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification and Enhancement (PROBE) confirmed the presence of medical waste such as dextrose bags, specimen containers, and syringes in the said property upon their first inspection last June 26, five days after the office received a letter from the owner of the property.

Raquel Arce, team head of PROBE said the lot owner asked for the city’s immediate assistance.
She added the lot owner had no idea whether or not Villaver is the city’s garbage collector or sub-contractor.
Peros said they have no idea as to where Villaver got the hazardous waste, stressing that the junkman only told them that it came from his old junk shop in Barangay Tisa.
CCENRO was able to identify that some waste came from a hospital in Bohol based on the markings of the medical waste like dextrose bags, specimen containers and syringes.
