Tagbilaran closed borders to outsiders on May 1

Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol, temporarily closed its borders to outsiders on Saturday, May, and urged residents to limit fiesta gatherings due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Borders was closed on May 1, except for workers, frontliners, businessmen and medical emergencies, the government said.

It was the second time Tagbilaran closed its borders.

May 1 marked the city’s fiesta in honor of St. Joseph the Worker. It also starts the merry month of May where there is a fiesta in every place in Bohol every day.

On Saturday, the province registered 876 active coronavirus cases and 41 deaths.
