The fisherman who reported missing for at least six hours was found dead in Baclayon town on Tuesday afternoon, April 13, 2021.

He was identified as Bernabe Gonzales, 54, a resident of Barangay Mayacabac, Dauis town.

Police Corporal Protacio Man-on Jr, investigator at Baclayon Police Station, said Gonzales and his fellow fishermen were in Baclayon to dock their boats.

His son Bobby told police that at around 9 a. m. on Tuesday, Gonzales went to the shore to gather sea urchins.

But he didn’t come back at lunchtime.

When Bobby learned that his father was not in Dauis, this prompted him and other fishermen to look for him.

He was found inside a fishpen by Bobby at around 3 p.m.

They retrieved the body and brought it to a funeral parlor.

Family told police that Gonzales had hypertension.

Police said there was no foul play of the incident.
