Ubay town to impose community lockdown during fiesta

The town of Ubay in Bohol will be closed to non-residents from Jan. 28 to 29 to prevent mass gatherings as it celebrates the annual fiesta.

In a Facebook post, the local government unit of Ubay will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

“This is to inform the public that Metro Ubay [sic] will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) on January 28, 2021 (Vesper Day) until January 29, 2021 (Fiesta Day),” it said.

All local residents are advised to stay home.

“Those who have essential needs and those who are working here are the only ones that will [be] allowed to enter Metro Ubay [sic] ,” it added.
