As the government continues its campaign against graft and corruption, President Rodrigo Duterte disclosed on Monday night, January 18, 2021, more names of government officials who were suspended from service for abusing their positions.

“I warned you. Pag-umpisa pa lang, sinabi ko don’t f*ck this pera sa Pantawid nung panahon ng Covid na namigay ng pera para sa mahihirap,” said Duterte.

“Suspended for six months…Maghearing sa kaso niyo,” he added.

Among those suspended were three Boholano barangay captains. They were Rodolfo Simbajon of Guio-ang, Guindulman town; Mario Lamalinao of Calituban, Talibon town and Eugene Zamora of Tagbilaran City.

Last year, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) had ordered suspension to Simbajon, Lamalinao and Zamora.

They were among the 89 barangay captains in the country were suspended for six months for alleged anomalies in the distribution of the government’s social amelioration program (SAP) for poor families affected by the pandemic.
