A 51-year-old man was shot dead near his residence by his neighbor in Barangay Calabasita in Jagna town on Friday morning, January 8, 2021.
Jagna police identified the victim as Nestor “Daton” Cagas.
The incident happened at past 9 a. m.
He was rushed to the Teodoro Galagar Memorial Hospital in Jagna but did not make it alive.
His neighbor, Dennis Balaba, 33, surrendered to authorities an hour after the shooting incident.
Balaba told police they had an argument with the victim regarding an incident last January 4, 2021. Balaba had accused Cagas of shooting him.
Police said a. 38 caliber handgun with five live bullets was recovered from Balaba’s possession after he voluntarily surrended to the police.
